Effets du NaCl sur la croissance et l'activité photosynthétique du fenugrec (Trigonella foenum-graecum)

Résumé

The aim of this study was to identify salt stress effect on growth and photosynthesis fenugreek plants. After 15 days of germination, seedlings fenugreek were grown in long day conditions (16 h photoperiode), on nutrient basal medium with different NaCl concentrations (0, 50, 100 and 150 mM NaCl) during 10 days of treatment. Measurements were performed on fresh leaves to study the effect of different salt concentrations on chlorophyll content, activities of photosynthetic enzymes and chlorophyll fluorescence. Results showed a decrease in chlorophyll content, more pronounced at highest NaCl concentrations 100, 150 and 200 mM NaCl. For treated plants, we observed an increase of the fluorescence intensity at steps J and I, indicating an inhibition of electron transport between quinones QA and QB, acceptors electron of PSII. As referred to chlorophyll fluorescence measurements (OJIP), this effect is accompanied by perturbation of PEPC and Rubisco activities.
